Potential Investors
I found a list of seven potential investors with marine, maritime, and shipping industry backgrounds across a variety of VC and private equity firms. Notable examples include J.F. Lehman & Co., founded by former Secretary of the Navy John F. Lehman, Maritime Asset Partners, AMA Capital Ventures, and several more. I've added information on all nine firms to the attached spreadsheet; read on for some additional notes!
OVERVIEW
To put this list together, I searched for general VC and private equity funds that have partners or directors with a shipping or maritime background. I also searched for funds that focus specifically on the shipping and maritime industry; often, these were the firms that had the most personnel with backgrounds in those industries anyway. I also tried to find confirmation of each fund's ability to invest at least $10 million, either through example investments or website documents; where applicable, I've noted this information in the spreadsheet. LinkedIn profiles were available for just a few of the individuals I selected; I've linked to Bloomberg profiles for the others and supplemented with biographical information from firm websites for many.
Since the criteria for inclusion are so specific, I was only able to find seven firms within the scope of a single standard Wonder request; if you need additional examples, please feel free to submit another request.
CONCLUSION
I've added information to this spreadsheet covering seven potential investors with marine, maritime, and shipping backgrounds. These firms include Northern Shipping Funds, Navigare Capital Partners, and several more. This was as many firms as I could find in the scope of one standard Wonder request; if you need additional examples, please feel free to submit another.
