Chive Exporters in Ecuador
Even after performing extensive research across multiple credible databases, our research team was not able to find two to five examples of Ecuador based companies that export fresh cut chives to the US. However, we were able to find one company that fulfills the research criteria. Ecuaverduras is a company in Ecuador that exports 100% of its products to the US. More information on the company has been presented below along with an outline of the research methodology that was applied to find the required information.
Methodology
Our research team started by searching across publicly available databases of the chive exporters in Ecuador. We hoped to find some general information on Ecuadorian exporters. While we found one chive exporter called NELPO in a source called QuimiNet, we could not find any other information to confirm if the company exports its goods by plane or exports its goods at all. The website only provided a contact form. Therefore, we tried searching across the company website; however, we found no relevant information on the topic. We found more of such producers, but none of them were located in Ecuador. They were all from Mexico, Colombia, and the US.
Thereafter, we continued searching for the required information in press releases, media, product market guides, and local news articles that were published by investors, media sites such as Forbes, and more. We used this strategy to find information related to the Ecuadorian exports that could ultimately lead us to the names of the major exporters in the country. Using this strategy, our research team was able to find one chive exporter called Ecuaverduras. The company met all the research criteria; however, we did not find any other exporter with this strategy.
Lastly, we changed our search tactics and started looking through the industry reports. We used this strategy to find global information on chive exports. This information could be helpful in locating the Ecuadorian exporters. Unfortunately, we did not find any relevant information, and all that we found was a report on chive oil that was published by Ample. The report is titled, "Global and Southeast Asia Chives oil Industry, 2018 Market Research Report". We also found another report published by the CBI Ministry of Foreign Affairs that was related to the export of fresh herbs to Europe. Still, we did not find any other information on the topic.
ECUAVERDURAS
Ecuaverduras exports 100% of its products and goods to the US. The company exports fresh chives in boxes weighing one kilo or between six and seven kilos. They take all the necessary precautions so that the chives don't wilt during the long trip to the US. The cutting process takes between two and three days as the cut is made until the chives reach the final customer. Chive is a perishable product; therefore, the processes are completed as fast as possible.
